2017-2018 Shabbat Programs for Nursery School Students and their Familes

Gan Shabbat, a program of children’s Sabbath services for nursery school age students and their families begins at Bet Torah on Saturday morning, October. This inter-active introduction to Shabbat songs, stories and prayers is held from 10:30 to noon in the synagogue library.  A kid-friendly Kiddush of refreshments follows each service. (“Gan” is the Hebrew word for “garden”).

Throughout the 2017-2018 school year, Gan Shabbat services will be held on the first Saturday of each month on the following dates: October 7, November 4, December 2, January 6, February 3, March 10, April 14,
May 5 and June 2.
Parents and children, ages 3infant through Grade 2, are cordially invited to join this specially designed warm and welcoming children’s program.

In addition to Gan Shabbat services on Saturday mornings, a Friday evening Shabbatini Young Family Service and Dinner will also be held from 6:00 to 7:30PM on Friday, November 17 and March 16.  All families are invited.

Other special children’s programs include the annual Havdalah in Pajamas on Saturday evening, December 9. Havdalah is the weekly end of the Jewish Sabbath. This special evening includes bedtime stories, songs, a family Havdalah service and a light dinner.
