Saturday Morning Shabbat Services

Shabbat is a sacred space in time—a taste of the world to come. We value the opportunity to gather, to reflect, and to feel as if all our needs are met. Shabbat is the centerpiece of the Bet Torah experience, offering warmth, comfort and inspiration. We articulate our vision for this experience as follows:

“We come together as a community to celebrate the joy of Shabbat.
Bet Torah welcomes individuals to participate in song, study and prayer
."

Bet Torah prides itself on having a strong worship community that participates each Shabbat morning.  With a religious school of approximately 400 children, many Shabbat services include a bar/bat mitzvah, with guests attending along with the congregation. A vibrant Shabbat atmosphere is also assured by regularly scheduled Saturday morning services for children of all ages, such as our Gan Shabbat , Vav Havurah, and Junior Congregation.

Gan Shabbat, a program of Children’s Sabbath services for nursery school age students and their families, is held once a month, usually on the first Saturday morning beginning in October and running through June. This interactive introduction to Shabbat songs, stories and prayers is held from 10:30 to noon. A kid-friendly kiddush of refreshments follows each service. (Gan is the Hebrew word for Garden).
