New! for 2020-2021!
Sundays, 10:00-11:00 a.m., weekly, starting Sunday, September 13, on Zoom. No fee.
Applications were due July 15.
We are thrilled to have selected thirteen impressive Madrichim applicants in the class of 2025 for Madrichim-in-Training (MIT), a new program offering our 8th graders a year of preparation to help them serve as even better role models to the children in our Kulanu Learning Program.
Madrichim-in-Training will meet weekly on Sunday morning with Robin Wald to build skills through training, observation, and time in the virtual classroom with the younger children under the mentorship of more senior Madrichim. In addition to training with Robin, MIT will benefit from learning with guest speakers, including Madrichim alumni who have used their Madrichim skills after graduating high school.
MIT will rotate through different remote classes of all ages, as well as both Hebrew and Judaics. After their year, they will be able to request future placements with knowledge of their own skills and preferences.
We anticipate meeting virtually for training workshops and observe Zoom classrooms until January 2021, at which point we will reevaluate.
As well as practical training, MIT will have time for reflection and discussion with Robin Wald, all rooted in Jewish tradition.
In this pilot year, we are pleased to offer MIT with no fee.
We are so happy that the Madrichim program continues to grow and thrive. MIT is the natural next step in building an ever more robust Madrichim program.
