Kulanu Family Holocaust Commemoration
Kulanu Family Holocaust Commemoration Program
On Tuesday, April 30, 4:30-6:00 pm, we invite families and community members to join us for a Kulanu Family Holocaust Commemoration Program. The program will be appropriate for fourth grade and older, however, parents may choose to take younger children. Our program will feature a Survivor speaker, Zayin (7) student interpretations in drawings and poetry, our Holocaust Scroll, songs and lighting of candles. This year we are featuring the stories of congregant survivor stories Rubin Partel and Charles Willner and Sylvia Kierszenblat as part of our Holocaust Scroll Project. Our Survivor speaker is Betty Knoop from the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center. Ms. Knoop was a contemporary of Anne Frank, lived in the same neighborhood and was deported to the same concentration camp and is a resident of Armonk, NY. Special thanks to Stacey Saiontz, Robin Wald and Aitana Perlmutter for being instrumental to this program.
