Endowment Fund
Gifts to this fund will fuel the future and fund our peace of mind.
The investment income from the Endowment Fund will position Bet Torah to anticipate, respond to, and protect against unforeseen scenarios and trends including community growth in size, changing needs, global events, and clergy development. The BTF hopes to raise $10M to invest in our future. Most immediately, the Endowment Fund will support:
- Fair and competitive compensation of staff and clergy.
- Dues and tuition remain at a reasonable rate.
- Hiring for emerging roles and congregational needs.
- Professional development, new responsibilities, and new opportunities for professional staff and clergy.
Named Funds
In addition to the General Endowment Fund, we have the following Named Endowment Funds, intended to benefit specific purposes:
- Senior Rabbi Fund – endowed to support the position of the Senior Rabbi
- Dr. Sheila Adler Innovation Fund – endowed to support creative and forward thinking ideas for our Kulanu students
- Eileen Klar Fund – endowed for Kulanu Learning Program experiential programming
- Steve Levine Fund – endowed to further volunteerism and leadership development efforts
- Max and Dove Spector L'dor Vador Youth Fund - endowed to provide ongoing support of Bet Torah's youth post B'nai Mitzvah to encourage their inclusion and ongoing education in the Bet Torah community
The Building Improvement Fund
Bet Torah leadership identified capital improvements that will enhance how our community engages, relates, and collaborates.
The building planning project, developed by a committee of Bet Torah lay leaders in consultation with a local architecture firm, identifies a set of major building improvements that will directly impact how our community engages, relates, and collaborates and will reflect and enhance our values and mission. The Building Improvement Fund is projected to cost $5M. Your gift will support:
- Improved and secured outdoor space includes relocating the Nursery School Playground to a safer, more protected area, and modernizing, enlarging, and enhancing the space for exploratory play, bikes & trikes, yoga, and other creative outdoor learning experiences. Moving the playground also means added protection and security for our building.
- New Clergy Suite to accommodate enhanced offices, collaboration, and meeting space with members. It is urgent that we invest in our exceptional clergy and staff who infuse our community with spirituality, intelligence, warmth, humor, guidance, education, support, and information. They build relationships within and beyond our walls and connect people, thoughts, and insights together, they provide a strategic vision in the world and keep Judaism and our community relevant.
- Expanded the second-floor classroom and learning areas to continue to comfortably accommodate our nursery school in the mornings, Kulanu most afternoons, and teen social groups, volunteers and committees meeting in the evenings. Our building is happily rarely (if ever) empty and gifts to this fund will allow us to continue to meet the needs of our educational programs and community groups as we gather and fill our spaces with multipurpose and multigenerational activities.
