Defiant Requiem is a feature length documentary film highlighting the most dramatic example of intellectual & artistic courage in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp. It is the remarkable story of Rafael Schachter, a brilliant Czech conductor who was arrested in 1941 and how he recruited 150 prisoners and taught them Verdi’s Requiem to perform before prisoners and high ranking SS officers.
