Sunday, December 8, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Adler Family Home, Chappaqua
A giving circle is a group of people who pool their donations and decide where to give together. Our TLC Parent-Teen Pop-Up Giving Circle will be rooted in Jewish values. Together, parents and teens will decide for ourselves what our values are, what the mission of our circle is, and what we want our charitable dollars to support.
Over the course of the evening, we will give a combined gift of money with thought, intention, information, and strategy. We will learn about new issues and causes, while reflecting on and discussing the values that animate us. We’re hoping for good conversations about values and motivations, deeper understanding of our opinions, and passionate pitching for the projects which inspire us.
Teens are invited to donate a minimum of $18 of their own money to this project, and parents are asked to “match” their donation twice, donating a minimum of $36. This will ensure all participants have a literal financial stake, making this process all the more meaningful. Gift amounts will be kept private.
Please bring a checkbook so we can send out our donation at the end of the evening.
We will be serving light snacks.
Our circle will be part of a new Jewish giving circle movement called Amplifier. More at amplifiergiving.org.
