Mitzvah Needles

Mitzvah Needles members have been hard at work! We are proud to share that our entries to Violet Protest will be exhibited at the Phoenix Art Museum this spring, and will be delivered to members of Congress later in the year.

Our newest projects include:
  • Hats for the “HatNotHate” anti-bullying program
  • Knitted prostheses for breast cancer survivors for the Knitted Knockers program Our beloved member, Harriet Blumencranz, of blessed memory, is the person who first introduced us to the Knitted Knockers program, and we knit/crochet with love in each stitch remembering her.

We Zoom on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am. All first time novices through to experienced knitters are welcome!!

In addition, we continue to make rectangles for WarmUpAmerica, and blankets for the NICU and for the PTSD treatment program at the VA, looking towards being able to donate  perhaps later this year.

Please contact Debra Bloomgarden at  with any questions or for more information.

*Please note that all of our projects have specific requirements for yarns and sizes, etc.
