Hello, Boomers! Spring is just around the corner. Time for us to hit the road for our first event of the year. This is the one you have been asking for – a tour of the homeland – Brooklyn! We are going to see it all. The tour includes a visit to Brooklyn Heights and a walk along the famous Promenade overlooking Manhattan. We’ll visit Truman Capote’s home, Flatbush Avenue past the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Barclays Center, Grand Army Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the original location of Ebbets Field where the Brooklyn Dodgers once played and a drive through beautiful neighborhoods like Park Slope and Windsor Terrace. Movie locations on the tour include The Godfather, Moonstruck, As Good As It Gets, Dog Day Afternoon and many more. Included in the day’s activities is lunch at Junior’s, one of Brooklyn’s most famous eateries. This is a full sit-down lunch with a half sandwich, fries and soft drink. Dessert is included and consists of a slice of Junior’s famous cheesecake and a vanilla or chocolate egg cream. The lunch is included in the day’s cost ($75)

Just as we did with the TCM tour, we will not be using a bus from Bet Torah. Instead, everyone will take a train from their local station directly to Grand Central where we will meet the tour bus. You should plan on arriving at the Grand Central Information Desk no later than 10:45. We will finish the tour at Grand Central around 3:15. After the tour concludes you are free to roam around the City to your heart’s content. Shop, stay for dinner. Whatever you like. Then, take the train back home. What could be more convenient? Even if you weren’t brought up there, there is a piece of Brooklyn in each of us. Relive your memories or capture some new ones. Join us for this terrific day’s outing. Lunch at Junior’s makes the day even more special. _______________________________________ All members of the Bet Torah community are invited, but seats are limited, and will be filled on a first come/first served basis
